The new ‘Gatehouse Cottage’ has been added to ‘Hokitika Heritage Lodge’ to provide a home-away-from-home, ideal for the weekend or week away. With the additional benefits of being part of the Lodge you can join us for socializing or be as private as you want to be.
Explore the coast from the Seal Colony near Westport; Punakaiki, to the Glaciers…or up to Arthur’s Pass … all within 2 hours drive of us. You will need a week to see and do it all!
Gatehouse Tariffs
- $250 for up to 4 people for one night.

Dianne and Chris, your hosts, look forward to welcoming you to the ‘Gatehouse Cottage’ which has been built to reflect West Coast history. It was only completed in August 2007, but it has the feel of ‘old times’ while enjoying all modern conveniences.
We welcome couples or family groups who want to enjoy the West Coast hospitality and scenery. Our town provides wonderful artisans, cafes, restaurants, and views. Walks on the beach, around the lake, or through the bush are within easy access.
The relaxing lounge, offers gas fire, views of the mountains, comfortable couches and chairs. TV, DVD player, DVDs, games, books and magazines supplied.

Furnished to provide luxury, yet relaxed living, the Cottage provides two bedrooms that are beautifully presented, with a Queen bed in one room (above), and a King (or twin beds) in the other (below).

The Kitchen, which has been designed to reflect ‘the old world charm’ is fully equipped with all appliances, and leads into a sunny dining room furnished with a beautiful recycled rimu table.
The beautifully decorated bathroom provides a bath, shower and vanity.
There is a full laundry and an attached single garage.
Outdoor living is attractive and provides views to the mountains and sea.
